In 2015 Foxhole Garden Community Interest Company was formed to regenerate a disused garden space on the Dartington Estate. The aim was to create a thriving social and therapeutic horticulture business, offering a range of courses and sessions for the local community to learn about growing and cooking organic produce and to enjoy being outside together.
Foxhole Community Garden is now a beautiful 0.7 acre site alongside other enterprises at Old School Farm. In the garden is an orchard, fruit bushes, annual and perennial vegetable beds, a wildlife pond and wildlife habitats, willow domes, a firepit cooking area and mud kitchen play areas.
There is a lively timetable of events and activities, from parent and toddler groups, art and gardening workshops to regular volunteer days where people can get involved in any aspect of the garden which interests them.
We are proud of all the work we have done to create the garden as a welcoming space for local wildlife and folk. The work continues as we plant bulbs and trees, create habitats for humans and wildlife – all with the aim of turning this pasture into a productive paradise.
If you’d like to be involved or informed you can contact us or keep up to date by joining on Facebook or our mailing list.
We look forward to seeing you in the garden!
