From March 2025 home educated children aged 8 to 13 can join us in the garden for a year long exploration of plant craft.

Each month we work with the seasons and the wheel of the year to connect with the wild and cultivated plants and herbs around us to make food, medicine and to wildcraft, learning simple weaving or cordage skills.

We’ll weave together skills in botany, apothecary, foraging and plant craft including how to safely identify herbs and wild plants to use, making medicines and learning recipes.

We’ll learn how to cultivate herbs, growing from seed and cuttings, using organic and no-dig techniques. Together we’ll tend an apothecary garden, throughout the year.

Alongside this we’ll create our own herbarium and record of the month, weaving in gentle mindfulness, nature connection, art and crafts to create a wonderful learning experience..

At the end of the year your child will have gathered evidence of learning which we can submit to AQA, the awarding body which we work with at Foxhole, to receive a Certificate in Plant Craft, which includes modules on botany, horticulture and sowing and growing herbs amongst others.

The sessions are aimed at children from 8 to 13 years.  The group will run with same families for the year from March to October 2025 (excluding August).

The day runs from 10am to 3pm.

Parents are very welcome to stay and learn with their children for free as the focus is on the children, enabling you to continue your learning adventure at home.

Booking will open in November 2024.
